Definitions 

BOS: The Board of Supervisors - the 5 member board elected from the 5 geographic regions comprising Mendocino County , the governing body for all unincorporated areas

Brush Street Triangle - The acreage north of Orr Creek, between Highway 101 and the Redwood Empire Fairgrounds

CAC or CAB - Citizen Advisory Committee or Board

CEQA - said as one word (see-Qua) California Environmental Quality Act

Council, City Council , UCC-refers to the Ukiah City Council, a 5 member board elected by the citizens of the City of Ukiah .

EIR or dEIR - Environmental Impact Report, d stands for draft

General Plan - This is document that acts like the constitution; it guides the formation of laws and codes regarding development in Mendocino County

Lover's Lane - acreage north of Lover's Lane, currently zoned agricultural

LAFCO - said as one word, the Local Area Formation Commission charged by the State of California to regulate urban sprawl, annexations etc..

MCOG or COG - said as one word, the Mendocino County Organization of Governments, oversees transportation funding

Planning Commission - appointed citizens who discuss and vote on planning issues and projects. The City of Ukiah and Mendocino County each have their own planning commissions.

San District - the Ukiah Valley Sanitation District

UVAP - Ukiah Valley Area Plan: The Ukiah Valley has its own planning area, which includes all of the surrounding area from ridge to ridge and from Highway 20 to Burke Hill Road . This planning area fills in a hole in the General Plan of Mendocino County .

UVAP/EIR - Ukiah Valley Area Plan/Environmental Impact Report: This document addresses the cumulative impacts of development in the Ukiah Valley on the environment, as specified by CEQA.
