Help find the best industrial use for the former Masonite property. The Ukiah Valley Smart Growth Coalition invites everyone to submit ideas for how this 68-acre prime industrial site could best be developed for the future of our community. The current corporate owner would like the site rezoned to allow for a “regional retail center” with multiple big box stores. That would be a poor choice for the future of our community and valley. We believe this property is a key local resource with many excellent potential uses because of its existing industrial zoning. Imagine the former Masonite plant site achieving its full potential as a center for well-paying jobs . . . as a place where people make or do something you are proud of . . . that reflects the spirit of Mendocino County. As the largest industrially-zoned site in inland Mendocino County, the Masonite site has freeway and rail access, industrial utility infrastructure, and many possible uses under its existing zoning. Think big! Be creative! Our contest judges will award dazzling prizes from local entrepreneurs to the winners and entries will be given public recognition. |
